Active Ski Expeditions uses two types of accommodation. For our Premier Packages we use the Kur und Sporthotel the village of Bad Hindelang (see photo above for a typical apartment lounge).  For our Standard Packages we use a selection of Bavarian Lodges in the surrounding area. All locations are just outside the town of Sonthofen.

Kur und Sporthotel

The Kur und Sporthotel is located in the delightful village of Bad Hindelang hidden back from the road. It is a 3* plus apart-hotel. The views in all directions are stunning.

The bedrooms are all based on four or six person apartments; including bedroom, living room, bathroom and kitchenette. Some of the beds are comfortable sofa beds in the living room. The beds are based on the Austrian Tyrol sleeping arrangements common in this area. All the apartments are decorated and furnished to a contemporary and pleasant finish.

The large dining room shows off some of the best food Germany has to offer. Breakfast consists of a varied cold platter and hot bacon and eggs. The Evening meals are a three course menu with ample salad bar. Twice a week there is a spectacular European buffet.

A games room is provided with table tennis table, table football and a seating area. There is also a swimming pool, sauna, steam room and a gym complimentary for the guests.

A lecture room is available for our use for briefings and some of the evening activities.

Haus am Brunnenbach

Haus am Brunnenbach in Ortwang near Burberg and Sonthofen was used by the British Army for many years to run Adventurous Training Courses. It is ideally placed for large groups partaking in skiing. The Haus is run by a very friendly British couple, Joan and Gillie.

The accommodation has 50 beds spread between twins, four persons and six persons rooms split across two floors. All the rooms have recently been decorated and modernised to provide a light airy atmosphere. 40 of the beds are on in basic but comfortable bunk beds with ample showers available. The remaining 10 beds are in two apartments which are very comfortable for the teaching staff.

The dining room is of a reasonable size and is able to accommodate the whole group at a single sitting. Both breakfast and evening meal will be served here. The dining room also doubles up to be the bar/shop in the evening where people can relax and socialise. This area will be used for some of the evening activities including the showing of DVDs. There is a TV room attached to the Dining Room.
